HOT ROLLED COIL AND SHEET STEEL

Hot rolled steel is rolled on a continuous strip mill, generally above 1600°F (870°C), to the desired thickness.
The steel is supplied with either a standard “black” finish, or pickled and oiled, in slit coil or sheet form.

Quality Relevant Specifications Characteristics
Carbon – Manganese A1011 CS Suitable for simple bending and moderate forming, mechanical properties not specified.
Commercial Steel Type A, B, C

Drawing Steel A1011 DS Non Aging Steel, eliminates possible fluting and stretcher strains during forming.
Special Killed Type A, B

Structural Steel A1011 SS (various strength levels) minimum yield strength ranging from 30,000 PSI to 55,000 PSI Specified whenever guaranteed mechanical properties are required.

CSA W grades are now available in selected sheet sizes (per CSA G 40.21).
