Technical Support Analyst – Level 2

​Russel Metals is one of the largest metals distribution and processing companies in North America servicing customers primarily in Canada and the United States. The company conducts business in three metals distribution segments: metals service centers, energy products and steel distributors. We provide steel processing and distribution services to a broad base of approximately 35,000 end users through a network of 148 branches.

We are currently seeking highly motivated and results oriented individual for the position of Technical Support Analyst – Level 2 in our Mississauga (Corporate Office) location.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Provide effective telephone technical support to all Russel Metals users by accurately identifying IT related problems and logging these support calls into our central HEAT® database
  • Sending prompt communications to user based community on IT changes, deployments and service outages
  • Receiving, tracking, documenting, resolving and/or escalating all user identified software and hardware issues to ensure timely and accurate response and resolution
  • Setup, deployment, and support for all Russel Metals Windows based PCs and peripherals
  • Promote and follow Corporate Governance standards and policies
  • Basic Network troubleshooting
  • Provide backup for other team members
 
Job Requirements: 
  • Working hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • Post Secondary diploma/degree in a computer-related field
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Suites
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Windows 7/10
  • Effective oral and written English language communication skills
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organization skills
  • Self motivated and Customer Service driven
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills
  • A positive, team oriented attitude
 
Preferable 
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)Familiarity with Office 365 Products
  • Familiarity with Sophos Safeguard Suite
  • Familiarity with Cisco VOIP Phone System
  • Familiarity with HEAT Call Logging Software

Education 
  • 2-3 year college or university degree in a computer-related field
